My Go To Skin Routine

Keeping my face smooth and healthy takes a lot of work. I wish I was like one of those people that can make do with a basic face wash and moisturiser and never have to worry about anything else. But alas, I was cursed with high maintenance skin. I follow a 5 (6 at night) step routine. 1. My first step is to remove all grime and dirt from my face using a brightening cleansing oil. My preferred product of choice is TONYMOLY - Floria Brightening Cleansing Oil 2. Second step is my two step face wash. First I use my Glycolic Fix Cleansing Pads from Nip+Fab and rinse that off, then I like to use a gentle face wash as I have slightly sensitive skin. I tend to use Simple Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash 3. After my face wash I also use a gentle toner to give my skin a break from the harsh makeup I've been/will be wearing. My go to toner is Simple Kind To Skin Facial Toner Soothing 4. If I'm doing this routine at night I like use under eye masks to help get rid

Realities Of Uni life

As a lot if people start gearing up to start uni life, I'm here to give some advice as a fresh graduate. You may have heard of loads of stories about the partying, the freedom from home and the lack attendance supervision. I'm here to tell you, it's not all it's cracked up to be. While yes there are a few who like to regularly party, but they're also the ones that blow through their student loan money ridiculously fast. Yes the freedom from home is amazing, until your paying for your own rent, utilities and food bill and you realise living at home wasn't so bad. And yes you can decide for yourself not to go to lectures or tutorials until you realise that some unis your attendance affects your grade or you end up not understanding a thing about your assinments or coursework. I'm not saying don't party, leave home or skip a few lectures, just know that you don't need to buy into the lifestyle you've heard about or seen on tv. Another pr

Finding Your Proper Shade Match

After years of complaining, campaigning and influencer marketing companies are finally starting to cater to a larger array of shades. There are a lot of things that you should be on the lookout for when shopping for your perfect match. 1. Don't always trust the match you may get in store. Not everyone hired to do makeup in stores ate professionally trained so it's always important to get more than one opinion if possible. Got to a variety if possible when checking your shade match for a specific product range. You may find that your shown as lighter or darker when comparing. 2. Always ask for samples to take home and test out at home. Not all stores may do this but it's important you see how the product changes according to environment and how it oxidizes over time. Oxidization can dramatically change how a shade looks on you so it's important to test it out for a day. 3. Never trust in-store lighting. In-store lighting has a way of playing tricks on un

Things to Make Sure of When Going on to Post-Graduate Study

The post-University Blues is a common phenomenon in our day and age, with a lot of us deciding whether to continue on to our master's or doctorates or enter into the stress that is job hunting. Continuing on with your education For some of us, the idea of entering the job market is frightening and we're more willing to pile up on the student debt and go straight to do our master's or our doctorate's. If this is path your taking there are some things that you need to make sure to take note of. Are you financially capable of continuing your education- Most universities only offer on-campus housing to freshman/1st years and appropriate scholarships are hard to come by. Will your future career needs experience- A lot of careers now require a minimum of 1 years experience in the chosen field. If you're going to be studying full time will you be able to rack up the experience you need if you're not in a placement or internship? Can you handle th

Pushing Yourself To Achieve Dreams And Goals

A lot of us have gotten stuck in the humdrum of everyday life, going from home to work and back every day, forgetting our original goals and dreams just trying to make a living. LEARNING TO ENJOY LIFE From the time we were born we’ve all been raised to dream of all possibilities only for those dreams to come crashing down in our late teens to early 20s. The harsh realities we face as we finish up high school/ secondary school to realize that what we wanted to do and be when we grew up isn’t always possible. What I’ve realised is that life isn’t linear, it goes up and down, round and round and circles around. There isn’t a time limit on our goals and dreams. You may be stuck in a job right now that you hate, you may wish to be a blogger, designer, artist, crafter or a YouTuber, it isn’t too late to be any of these things. Use your current job to supplement your passion. And most importantly take your time, there is never a rush where your dreams are conc
