Hailey Baldwin on Her Serum Savior, Burt’s Bees Fix, and Morning Routine

Getting glammed up is part of the job for someone who regularly walks runways for the likes of Off-White, Dolce & Gabbana, and Tommy Hilfiger, but Hailey Baldwin favors simplicity. “To be honest, I prefer when I’m the most natural—when I’m not wearing a lot of makeup and my hair is up, very casual,” she told ELLE. So it makes sense that the model (and new wife of Justin Bieber) would want to partner with bareMinerals. A longtime fan of the mineral-based makeup and skin-care line (she used to sneak her mother’s powder foundation from her makeup bag), Baldwin is the ideal ambassador to spread its message of beauty from the inside out.

ELLE: If you could bottle any feeling, what would it be?

Hailey Baldwin: Sitting in the sun, when you’re warm and toasty. I’d much rather feel warm than cold. I also live in Canada now, where it gets even colder. Fall is my favorite season. It’s a little bit chilly, but the sun is shining, so you still feel that warm sunshine.

What’s your favorite feature, and how do you accentuate it?

Probably my lips. If I’m going out for the day, I like stains, like a lip balm that’s tinted for a little bit of color.

What makes you feel empowered?

My family. That’s definitely a big one for me. I just know that they always have my back. I have a very solid family, and a big family.

What’s the one thing you do every day to ensure it’s going to be a good one?

I usually try to start my mornings off with a devotional. I use an app called Jesus Calling, and there’s one for every date. I think it just helps you to set your mind on something else that’s not social media. I don’t like for my mind to go straight there, straight to work, or straight to any worries.
