How Celeb Makeup Artist Nam Vo Does All Natural Beauty

Welcome to another episode of Beauty Haul, where we challenge contestants to both shop ($150 budget!) and apply a full face of makeup in less than 30 minutes.

If you've ever seen a mesmerizing video of a model having blindingly glowy highlighter buffed onto her cheekbones, chances are you know Nam Vo. The makeup artist, who has worked with celebs like Kylie Jenner and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is responsible for the viral, can't-look-away "glow jobs" taking over over Instagram, calling it her signature #dewydumplings look.

"Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin," she says before a vanity when we meet her at CAP Beauty, a natural beauty destination in New York. She's the latest contestant for "Beauty Haul," and things are a bit more challenging this time: Green beauty products are significantly pricier, so the usual $150 budget doesn't stretch far. Still, she manages to use every penny to come up with a daytime beauty look that makes skin look plump, fresh, and rosy.

From why she thinks using fingers to apply makeup works best to proper placement for blush and contour, Nam dishes some amazing tips. Watch what happens when she calls on the "glow gods" to help her nail this challenge in this episode of Beauty Haul.

Here, dermatologist Macrene Alexiades , MD, PhD, who has published extensive research on microneedling, along with fellow Yale clinical professor and dermatologist Mona Gohara , MD demystify the multi-purpose treatment. Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in the skin. Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation, explains Macrene. The most popular (and cost effective) microneedling device, known as a dermaroller , is made up of micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds s...
