Ariana Grande's Natural Curls Are Thriving Once Again

It's impossible to think of Ariana Grande without thinking of her extra long ponytail. Remember when Givenchy was trying to do a "surprise" reveal of its new celebrity face with this unmistakable silhouette (and we all immediately knew who it was?)

Or when her ponytail took on a life of its own in a music video?

That rapunzel-like length is all extensions, of course, so it’s always surprising that Ariana's natural hair is actually short and curly. She took a video for a fan back in February revealing such:

Josh Liu, her hairstylist on the Sweetener tour, just posted another photo of Ariana au naturale and her curls are thriving. They're thick, bouncy, shiny, and at her shoulders. And, it seems like Ariana has been actively working to bring them back to life underneath her ponytail. "Natural curls coming in strong with a little tlc 🖤," he captioned the post.

Now, her fans are begging for him to let her curly hair out on tour.

Back when she first started making a ponytail her signature (and people were giving her a "hard time" about it) she addressed the look on Facebook. Apparently, it all started because her hair was so damaged after having to dye it red every other week while playing Cat Valentine on Victorious for four years. It "completely destroyed my hair," she wrote. "I wear extensions but I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down"

She continued, "Annoying as it is for y'all to have to look at the same hair style all the time, it's all that works for now...and trust me, it's even more difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined."

Glad to say she's well on her way to growing back her hair. In the meantime, if you want to test out the high, tight ponytail for yourself, try a ponytail attachment like this one from Insert Name Here.

Giant Italian-Style Hoagie

Wrap entire hoagie tightly in plastic wrap, then cut crosswise into 4 even sections. (The plastic wrap acts sort of like a girdle, holding in all of the meat, cheese, and veg so that they won't fly out you slice smaller segments. It also acts as insurance in case the parchment paper gets damp.) If you're taking your sandwich out into the world, wrap again in plastic or return to bag or sleeve that bread came in to hold it all together for easy transporting.

It’s an elegant, moist cake ideal for serving at a large brunch party (it’s worth timing to have it ready 30 minutes out of the oven) or with your morning coffee. If you don’t have pecans handy, walnuts make a great substitute.

Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Microneedling

For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. The practice dates back to 1995, but has gained significant traction in recent years thanks to new technology—and YouTube and Instagram, where the mesmerizing (albeit bloody) process stars in tens of thousands of videos. Here, dermatologist Macrene Alexiades , MD, PhD, who has published extensive research on microneedling, along with fellow Yale clinical professor and dermatologist Mona Gohara , MD demystify the multi-purpose treatment. Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in the skin. Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation, explains Macrene. The most popular (and cost effective) microneedling device, known as a dermaroller , is made up of micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds s...
