"The Off-White woman is a bit smarter this season," says Jawara Wauchope backstage in Paris. The hair guru for Solange, Hailey Bieber, and more directs team to give Gigi Hadid "a little more flip" before her closing stomp at Off-White, then turns back to the message: "The women on the runway have lived a little more. They're more experienced, they're stronger, they're tougher, and they're having an amazing time."
That rings true for the mega-babes Virgil Abloh cast on this season's catwalk, including Noemie Lenoir (39), Mariacarla Boscono (38), Katlin Aas and Karlie Kloss (both 26), and former teen fashion bebe Daphne Groeneveld, now 24. As for Gigi (23) and Bella (22), they've grown up, too, and also—let's face it—continue to have "an amazing time."
To show it, Wauchope created "second-day blowouts" using TIGI Queen for a Day Thickening Spray and a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. But for added texture and movement, his secret weapon was... water. "Use a spray bottle full of cold water during your blow dry to keep pumping up the volume and allowing for movement," he advises. "It really helps with the final look."
Makeup artist Fara Homidi had her own must-have surprise for glowing skin. "Can I tell you how much I love Egyptian Magic?" she asked. "If your skin is raw from traveling, you know, 'plane skin?' Put a coat of it on your bare face and wait for like 15 minutes, almost as if it's a face mask."
Pro tip: For gleaming limbs striding out of dress slits (see: Adut Akech in the show finale) or glistening abs à la Bella, the lotion is a quick way to glow up, too.
