This New Beauty Brand Is Making Disability-Accessible Makeup a Reality

UK-based brand Grace Beauty just launched with a mission: Make makeup more usable for people with disabilities. To start, they debuted with three add-ons you can attach to mascara wands and plan to expand to more products in the future.

There are three mascara accessories, all £8, or about $11. The Safe Grip (pictured above) is rubbery and flexible and "ensures better control for all kinds of users" according to Grace Beauty's site.

The Ring Grip is useful for those concerned about losing their grip or having to pick up a tube after it falls on the floor. "The rubberband will tightly connect to most mascaras on the market while the ring will be big enough for even the biggest fingers," Grace Beauty claims.

On the page's newly started Instagram, followers are already sharing how excited they are to see these accessories hit the market. "I have declining neuro function in the last six months and have given up on makeup. I wasn’t even an actual everyday user before, but this makes me so happy I am crying," user @vklowry wrote.

"This is amazing. Between hEDS, arthritis, and my tremor, I’d pretty much given up most makeup," user @kburnard shared. "I love the idea of The Ring Grip so much because in addition to just being able to hold onto it better, I wouldn’t have worry about flinging it across the room."

"I have fibromyalgia and find it difficult putting on makeup because it can be painful, I’d love to try this," user @kiera_leannemcc posted.

Grace Beauty's tools are available to pre-order now and will ship worldwide on June 3. It has also called on people to join their community to provide feedback for future products and ensure no one feels left behind by the beauty industry.

It also acts as insurance in case the parchment paper gets damp.) If you're taking your sandwich out into the world, wrap again in plastic or return to bag or sleeve that bread came in to hold it all together for easy transporting.

It’s an elegant, moist cake ideal for serving at a large brunch party (it’s worth timing to have it ready 30 minutes out of the oven) or with your morning coffee. If you don’t have pecans handy, walnuts make a great substitute.

Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Microneedling

For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. The practice dates back to 1995, but has gained significant traction in recent years thanks to new technology—and YouTube and Instagram, where the mesmerizing (albeit bloody) process stars in tens of thousands of videos. Here, dermatologist Macrene Alexiades , MD, PhD, who has published extensive research on microneedling, along with fellow Yale clinical professor and dermatologist Mona Gohara , MD demystify the multi-purpose treatment. Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in the skin. Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation, explains Macrene. The most popular (and cost effective) microneedling device, known as a dermaroller , is made up of micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds s...
