She's taught you her "New Rules" and made you dance to "Electricity," and now singer Dua Lipa is venturing into the beauty space. That's right, "Doola Peep" herself is the new face of a fragrance—and not just any fragrance, but YSL Beauty's new women's fragrance. The winner of the 2019 Grammy for Best New Artist called this gig "the hardest secret to keep" in her Instagram post announcing the partnership.
"Thank you to the incredible @yslbeauty team for making me feel so at home, for allowing me to play a small role in helping choose the final scent and for making my dreams come true on working with a brand I love so much," the May 2019 ELLE cover girl wrote alongside a behind the scenes photo of her campaign shot by Nabil. The full campaign is set to debut in September 2019.
YSL Beauty has been teasing "a new voice is coming" over the last day ahead of the official announcement. It shared a a shot of what's to come with the singer in a classic black YSL suit.
The brand just noted that Dua Lipa will be "the ambassador of its feminine fragrance" with no further details on what the fragrance is just yet. Dua Lipa is in good company at YSL, joining fellow Cool Girl Zoë Kravitz, who has been YSL Beauty's Global Makeup Ambassador since 2017.
This new gig comes in the middle of a major year for the London-born singer, who, as WWD notes, is now the most-streamed female artist globally, won two Grammy awards, and is in the billions views' club on YouTube (the youngest female artist to do so). She's currently in Paris with YSL, celebrating the new partnership:
