Zendaya's New Blood-Orange Dye Job Is the Best Homage to 'Spider-Man'

Zendaya turned heads at a London photo call for Spider-Man: Far From Home when she debuted a brand new dye job: Her normally dark-colored strands were a hue of blood orange-red. And no, it's not a wig—she confirmed that it is in fact a semi-permanent dye:

The actress claims the new look is an homage to none other than a character in Spider-Man, MJ aka Mary Jane Watson—Spider Man's love interest in the original comics who famously had red hair.

MJ is not to be confused with Zendaya's character, Michelle (who also goes by the nickname MJ) and does not have red hair. You might recall Kirsten Dunst played this role back in the 2002 movie:

The new hair color caused a bit of a frenzy among her fans, who've closely been watching rumors that Zendaya May be playing Ariel in a live-action remake of Disney's The Little Mermaid. "I loved The Little Mermaid," Zendaya to People when rumors surfaced in September 2018. "It is honestly one of my favorite movies of all time. I was obsessed with it when I was a little kid...it's just a rumor so we will see." She reiterated this statement on Twitter, responding to a tweet on June 15 claiming she's in the running for the role.

"Although flattering this is and always has been a rumor lol," she wrote.

Rumors aside, Zendaya was totally working the new color at the photo call. Exhibit A: This hair flip!

This isn't the first time she experimented with a red hair color. At the Met Gala 2018, she wore a red bob wig styled by Ursula Stephen as part of her Joan of Arc ensemble.

Giant Italian-Style Hoagie

Wrap entire hoagie tightly in plastic wrap, then cut crosswise into 4 even sections. (The plastic wrap acts sort of like a girdle, holding in all of the meat, cheese, and veg so that they won't fly out you slice smaller segments. It also acts as insurance in case the parchment paper gets damp.) If you're taking your sandwich out into the world, wrap again in plastic or return to bag or sleeve that bread came in to hold it all together for easy transporting.

Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Microneedling

For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. The practice dates back to 1995, but has gained significant traction in recent years thanks to new technology—and YouTube and Instagram, where the mesmerizing (albeit bloody) process stars in tens of thousands of videos. Here, dermatologist Macrene Alexiades , MD, PhD, who has published extensive research on microneedling, along with fellow Yale clinical professor and dermatologist Mona Gohara , MD demystify the multi-purpose treatment. Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in the skin. Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation, explains Macrene. The most popular (and cost effective) microneedling device, known as a dermaroller , is made up of micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds s...
