We Challenged Patrick Ta to Do a Glowy Makeover in the Back of a Moving Car

Gigi and Bella Hadid. Shay Mitchell. Adriana Lima. Hailee Steinfeld. They've all got one man to thank for their picture-perfect glow: celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta. Chances are you've probably run across his Instagram page that boasts 1.4 million followers.

In today's episode of "Back Seat Face Beat," we hitch a ride with Ta to the launch party for his eponymous beauty brand and learn how to glitter-glisten-gloss without looking like an oil slick. To celebrate Ta even brought a bottle of limited edition Moët along for our car ride. (Cheers to that!)

Along the way, Ta spills a bit of tea around his celebrity clientele. What's Gigi Hadid's pump-up music of choice? Disney show tunes! As for her sister, Bella? Rap only. Come for the beauty advice—like how to lessen your highlighter without losing the glow—and stay for the kind words from Ta on the woman who influenced him the most in his career.

Spoiler: One is his mamma and the other is a Pretty Little Liar.

You can also shop the complete Patrick Ta Beauty Major Glow collection below. The line features nine products, in perfectly named shades like "Is she older than me?" and "We love her!" that will keep you shimmering all summer. The best piece of the whole collection is a setting fan (yes, fan!) that allows the shimmer mist to dry seamlessly.

Shop below and watch our ride with Ta, above!

It also acts as insurance in case the parchment paper gets damp.) If you're taking your sandwich out into the world, wrap again in plastic or return to bag or sleeve that bread came in to hold it all together for easy transporting.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake from The Silver Palate Cookbook

[unable to retrieve full-text content]This recipe is one of our favorites from The Silver Palate Cookbook, our February 2019 Cookbook Club pick. It’s an elegant, moist cake ideal for serving at a large brunch party (it’s worth timing to have it ready 30 minutes out of the oven) or with your morning coffee. If you don’t have pecans handy, walnuts make a great substitute.

Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About Microneedling

For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. Here, dermatologist Macrene Alexiades , MD, PhD, who has published extensive research on microneedling, along with fellow Yale clinical professor and dermatologist Mona Gohara , MD demystify the multi-purpose treatment. Microneedling creates microscopic punctures in the skin. Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation, explains Macrene. The most popular (and cost effective) microneedling device, known as a dermaroller , is made up of micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds s...
